needing help isn't a moral or personal failing. every person on this earth needs help from infancy to being elderly and everything else in between, we all need help at one point or another. the vast majority of us do not farm the wheat for or bread, nor do we mill it, or turn it into dough, or even bake it. so many other people help us every single day of our lives. needing help with your health is no different.

it's not bad to need accommodations with walking, moving, talking, hearing, perceiving stimuli, eating, making phone calls, doing laundry, taking medications, getting to sleep, staying awake, keeping yourself grounded, remembering or keeping track of things, making it to things on time, or anything else. it's natural to need help, we are a social species. please allow yourself to ask for help when you need it, that's how humanity has continued to survive.

Every now and then a song will come on and I’ll see someone singing along and they light up and know every word and I immediately want to know. Did your mom sing that while she made pancakes? Did your older brother blare it from behind his bedroom door? Did your little sister and her friends play it on repeat while they choreographed a dance? Did your best friend have it playing in the car every time they picked you up for school? Did your coworkers make you sing it on karaoke night? Why do you love it? Tell me everything.

listen to me LISTEN to me I always thought that people parading around "it gets better" was stupid and corny and useless to me bc I'm like nuh UH your circumstances can definitely get worse and often times will but the SECRET that the LIBS (<- this is a joke) won't tell you is that when they say it gets better you are the it in that statement. YOU get better

to my shock and honestly annoyance life is actually like a learning process the entire time you live it and i don't mean you get better as in one day your depression magically disappears I just mean experience+survival means you get BETTER. at being a PERSON. Things don't suck less in your twenties it's just that you get way more talented and handling things sucking!!! You start to learn what independence you have and what resources you can rely on and how to ask for help you just!! of course things seemed like the end of the world in high school you haven't already been there done that and got the tshirt! and sure it's not entirely true that you can do whatever you want forever but whooooaaa nelly the older you get the more you know both what you want and what you can do and when those overlap!! to any youths reading this to any internet old bitches reading this you have time and im so excited for you

You get more experience and you also get more autonomy and eventually you will grow into a position where you both know who you are and have the freedom to be that person.
